Principal Highways Engineer

Our client is seeking a Principal Highways Engineer to support infrastructure and highway projects on a contract basis. The role will involve providing technical leadership across highway design and development schemes, with particular responsibility for Section 278 and Section 38 agreements.Key Responsibilities:Leading the delivery of highway and infrastructure projects from design through to implementationManaging and reviewing Section 278 and Section 38 highway agreementsPreparing and assessing highway designs, technical reports and supporting documentationProviding expert highways advice to project teams, clients and external stakeholdersCo-ordinating with local authorities, developers, contractors and statutory bodiesReviewing technical submissions to ensure compliance with relevant standards and approval requirementsSupporting project delivery through effective communication, technical problem-solving and stakeholder managementJob Requirements:Significant experience in highways engineering and infrastructure developmentStrong knowledge of highway design principles, standards and industry best practicePractical experience with Section 278 and Section 38 agreementsAbility to lead and review highway design and technical documentationUnderstanding of highway approval processes and local authority requirementsStrong communication, organisation and project management skillsAbility to work effectively with clients, consultants, contractors and public-sector ..... full job details .....
