WSP . This role is based in London (Chancery Lane) and focuses on design management and project leadership for sustainable transport and public realm improvement projects, primarily in London.What you will do
Design Management: Oversee the design process, ensuring design work meets client requirements, coordinates with other departments, and is completed on time and within budget.Project Management: Plan, schedule, budget, and allocate resources; ensure milestones are met and projects are delivered on time and within budget.Client Liaison: Act as the main point of contact for clients and keep them informed of progress.Risk Management: Identify and manage project risks and resolve issues promptly.Quality Assurance: Ensure high standards of design quality and address issues quickly.Team Leadership: Lead and motivate the design team to work effectively and efficiently.Our services focus on innovative sustainable transport solutions, including business case preparation and design development for projects such as Major Public Realm Improvements in central London and cycling/active travel schemes.A Typical Week
Prepare highways designs for construction projects and coordinate input from other disciplinesProduce drawings, design details, specifications, bill of quantities, and design calculationsAttend client and internal progress meetings and maintain action trackersLiaise with discipline leads and update scheme programmes with inter-dependenciesImplement QA/QM procedures, assist with Project Execution Plans, and carry out related actionsMaintain project commercial risk registersSupport design HandS risk management plans and schedulesCoordinate inputs from technical disciplines and disseminate project informationCoordinate technical decision logsOversee preparation of fee proposals and change control documentsPrepare task assignment documents and obtain internal approvalsSupport internal processes for financial reporting including forecastingPrepare RAMS for site surveys and participate in site visits as requiredUpdate project plans and manage document control using SharePointPlan and deliver project deliverables and milestonesRaise orders for supply chain partners’ technical supportWhat we will look for
Bachelor''s degree in Civil Engineering or a related fieldExperience in design management and project managementProfessional qualification (IEng or CEng) or near to obtaining oneStrong leadership and team management skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to report to senior levelProven track record of leading design projects from inception to completionAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressureDon’t quite meet all the criteria?
