Key Responsibilities:Lead Local Flood Authority Duties: Coordinate and manage statutory duties under relevant legislative frameworks including the Flood and Water Management Act 2010 and the Highways Act 1980. Planning Application Consultations: Oversee responses to planning applications focusing on Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) and surface water flood risk evaluation. Strategy Development: Prepare and implement local strategies and policies related to water management, flood risk, and climate change adaptation. Liaison Role: Act as the primary interface between the council and external partners in both private and public sectors.
