Principal EngineerHybrid Working - London - 2 days a week on site.Financial ServicesLorien''s leading banking client is looking for a strong Principal Engineer to join a high-profile transformation programme delivering a next-generation cloud-native customer onboarding platform.This is a hands-on technical leadership role, combining architecture, engineering excellence, and team mentorship to help deliver a business-critical platform.While experience within Banking or Financial Services is preferred, we are also keen to speak with candidates from technology-driven organisations, start-ups, scale-ups, or other complex engineering environments with experience building modern cloud-native platformsThe ideal candidate for this position has strong expertise in Cloud-Native Microservice Development (Python/Java), Containerisation (Docker/ECS/EKS), and GitLab, CI/CD, Terraform.This role is based in London.This role will be Via Umbrella.Working in a Hybrid Model of 2 days a week on site.Key ExperienceProvide technical leadership across multiple engineering squads, driving engineering standards and best practices.Design and develop cloud-native microservices using Python and/or Java.Lead architecture and design for distributed, event-driven systems.Champion modern DevOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and cloud engineering practices.Mentor and coach a team of approximately 10 junior engineers, conducting code reviews and supporting technical development.Collaborate with architects, ..... full job details .....
