Principal Development Control Officer

Northamptonshire Council are looking for a Principal Development Control Officer (Waste and Minerals).

• -50hr.
• Inside IR35.
• Remote (but working from offices in Northampton and Thrapston when necessary).

Job Description:

The job role will be to determine applications for minerals and waste development for North Northamptonshire, West Northamptonshire and Rutland Councils (the latter two authorities NNC provides a service to under contract). This will include site visits as appropriate, giving pre-application advice and attending the respective planning committees of the three authorities as necessary when an application goes before them.

The job will also require the monitoring of existing permitted/operational minerals and waste sites in the three authorities and of any authorised development notified to us. In the case of the latter the job holder may need to initiate enforcement action.

As previously stated experience in minerals and waste development management of significance will be required.
