Principal Design Engineer

Principal Design Engineer (Contract)Location: LeedsWe are seeking an experienced Principal Design Engineer to provide technical leadership on major infrastructure and civil engineering projects.Key Requirements:10+ years'' experience in structural, temporary works, tunnelling, or infrastructure design.Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete, steel structures, foundations, retaining walls, and underground structures.Experience delivering designs to Eurocodes and UK standards.Proven leadership of multidisciplinary design teams and design assurance processes.Chartered status (ICE or IStructE) preferred.Experience on major UK infrastructure programmes desirable.Responsibilities:Lead permanent and temporary works design activities.Review and approve technical calculations, drawings, and design deliverables.Coordinate with geotechnical, construction, and engineering teams.Support bids, technical governance reviews, and client engagement.Mentor junior engineers and drive engineering best practice.Excellent opportunity to work on complex infrastructure projects within a high-performing engineering team.ersg are an equal opportunities employer; we are committed to promoting equality of opportunity for all job applicants.
