      <description>Location: Reading | Salary: Negotiable | Type: Contract | We are looking for an experienced  Principal Data Engineer  to provide technical leadership across our enterprise data platforms, architecture, and engineering capabilities.  You will design and deliver  secure, scalable and reliable cloud-based data solutions , while establishing engineering standards and best practices across data integration, pipelines, DataOps, DevOps, data quality and governance.  Working closely with architects, software engineers, analysts and business stakeholders, you will help shape our data strategy and deliver capabilities that support  data-driven decision-making, advanced analytics, AI and machine learning .   Key Responsibilities    Design and evolve scalable, secure enterprise data architectures and platforms.  Lead the development of data pipelines, integration frameworks and data products.  Establish engineering standards, reusable patterns and best practices.  Drive adoption of  cloud-native technologies, DevOps, DataOps, CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code .
