Lead the delivery of transmission protection and automation systems across new substations and existing infrastructure upgradesProvide technical leadership and mentoring to a team of protection engineersAssess and optimise engineering processes to improve delivery efficiency and qualityAct as technical authority for protection systems on UK transmission and distribution projectsEnsure solutions align with current industry standards, specifications, and regulatory policiesCollaborate with internal teams (Sales, Proposals, Operations) to provide technical input and feedbackSupport testing activities including FAT, settings validation, and interface designPromote a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing across the teamSkills and Experience
Proven experience delivering protection and control systems within multidisciplinary engineering teamsStrong understanding of UK transmission network standards, particularly Grid specificationsExperience in Contractor Design Approval (Assurance or Contractor) for Grid projectsExpertise in detailed design including circuit diagrams, interface layouts, cubicle design, and testing protocolsFamiliarity with industry-standard software tools for simulation and configuration (e.g., SIPROTEC / DIGSI desirable)Track record of delivering protection solutions for both brownfield extensions and greenfield buildsExcellent communication and coordination skills across technical and non-technical stakeholdersMinimum HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent), with extensive experience in the electricity transmission and distribution sectorBenefits
