8:00 - 18:00 (Mon/Thurs), 8:00 - 16:00 (Fri)Access Talent Group are currently recruiting for a UK medium-sized design consultancy looking for a Principal or Lead Civil Engineer specializing in substation and electrical infrastructure design.This role is for a Lead or Principal Civil Engineer to join a new and developing team within electrical infrastructure and substation design. You will work with clients across the UK on civil and structural elements for new builds and upgrades to substation and transformer infrastructure design. A successful Principal will have the experience and autonomy to hit the ground running. The development plan for this Principal will be to lead a team of civil engineers within this sector and bring their design in-house.Key Responsibilities and Attributes:Degree level qualification or HND in Civil or Structural EngineeringPreferably IEng or CEng professional qualification achievedExperience with substation designExperience with reinforced concrete, heavy civils, and development civil infrastructureCivil and structural experienceContractor Design Approval Engineer (CDAE) experience, as defined by National Grid''s TP137 procedureGood understanding of UK environmental and waste management legislation and requirementsGood knowledge of National Grid''s Transmission Procedures, including TP106, TP135, TP137, TP141, TP153, TP184, TP188, TP219, TP221, TP235, TP241Other Requirements:Ideally based within commutable distance to Manchester, but candidates from further afield will be consideredHybrid home-office working arrangement with flexible working optionsSalaried or contract (Outside IR35)Benefits for Permanent Staff:Health and well-being programPension schemeThis is a great opportunity for an experienced Principal to be part of a new developing team with you as the centerpiece.
