Job Description:Overview
First Military Recruitment is currently seeking a Principal / Associate Transport Planner on behalf of one of our clients.
Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel; however, all candidates will be given due consideration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Delivery of transport planning projects, including project management, client liaison, fee proposals, change control, and invoicing.
Providing transport planning advice to colleagues and clients.
Developing strong client relationships and securing repeat work.
Preparing technical reports and presentations in line with company, client, and national standards.
Collaborating with other design disciplines for integrated project delivery.
Liaising with the Project Partner and client on project developments.
Supporting team development and growth.
Overseeing analyses related to transport planning and design projects, including CAD, GIS, transport modelling, and data analysis.
Assisting in resolving complex technical issues.
Managing project documentation, including drawing registers.
Monitoring and managing project budgets and schedules.
Skills and Qualifications:
Degree or relevant experience in transport-related or numeric subjects (e.g., Transport Planning, Mathematics, Geography, Civil Engineering), or equivalent.
Excellent knowledge of transport planning principles, policies, standards, and assessment requirements.
Leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills with a proactive attitude.
Outgoing and confident personality.
Client-focused with strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, committed to quality.
Experience across various projects and sectors, preferably within the private sector.
Commercial awareness with the ability to provide clear, authoritative advice.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.
Understanding of TRICS, trip generation, junction assessment, CAD, and road safety engineering.
Membership in relevant professional bodies such as CIHT or equivalent.
Valid full driving license.
