Principal / Associate - Digital Infrastructure Design EngineerWSP is seeking Principal Engineers and Associates to join our Digital industry-leading Intelligent Infrastructure team. We are expanding our Digital Infrastructure Design Capability across all areas and seek individuals with a strong enthusiasm for digital technologies and digital design methodologies. We value thoughtful questioning of traditional design practices and innovative solutions to enhance design and delivery processes.

We operate as consultants, designers, and thought leaders, understanding complex design challenges, providing reliable advice, and creating designs that serve the best interests of our clients, maintenance personnel, and their customers.

Your RoleAs a Principal Engineer or Associate, you will be responsible for leading infrastructure design schemes at both discipline and multi-discipline levels (dependent on grade) using your experience in roadside infrastructure design. You will collaborate effectively with the team, lead problem-solving efforts, provide support and address gaps as necessary, and be accountable for the quality of outputs from the team. The role requires strong client engagement, a positive mindset, and the ability to align client needs with corporate responsibilities, escalating issues to senior staff when appropriate.

What We Will Be Looking For You To DemonstrateA degree in a relevant engineering discipline and working towards professional registration with an accredited institute. Possess domain knowledge in a relevant industry, such as power, communications, electrical, electronics, and highway design. The ideal candidate should have the following skills or competencies:

Understanding of roadside infrastructure and design standards

Lead design processes, including the use of design tools

Lead a team in delivering designs or schemes

Collaborating with colleagues from other disciplines, understanding their basic principles

Ability to collaborate successfully with clients and manage their expectations

Ability to undertake the role of lead engineer to successfully take a scheme from inception to handover with the client

Ability to motivate, develop and lead junior members of the team, encouraging individual growth and performance

Ability to problem-solve and be self-motivated when undertaking specific tasks with minimal support from peers
