Responsibilities
As a Principal Acoustic Consultant, you will:
- Lead and deliver complex, high-profile projects with precision and expertise.
- Provide technical leadership, including acoustic modelling, design, and analysis.
- Oversee quality assurance, ensuring projects meet the highest standards.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.
- Mentor and develop junior consultants, fostering a culture of growth and collaboration.
- Contribute to the consultancy''s strategic growth by engaging with stakeholders and identifying new opportunities.
Qualifications
To excel in this role, you''ll need:
- 8+ years'' experience in acoustic consultancy, with proven leadership capabilities.
- Expertise in building acoustics, sound insulation, and planning support.
- Comprehensive knowledge of BB93, BS8233, and relevant national planning policies.
- A track record of successful project delivery and client management.
- Proficiency in software such as ODEON, CadnaA, or SoundPLAN.
- Chartered status (or working towards it) with the Institute of Acoustics (IOA).
- A full UK driving licence.
Day-to-Day
Your typical day will involve:
- Collaborating with clients and stakeholders to define project goals and deliverables.
- Conducting detailed acoustic modelling and analysis to develop innovative solutions.
- Leading project teams, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
- Reviewing and approving technical reports and designs.
- Mentoring junior team members, sharing your expertise to help them grow.
- Identifying opportunities for business development and contributing to strategic planning.
