Responsibilities

As a Principal Acoustic Consultant, you will:

  • Lead and deliver complex, high-profile projects with precision and expertise.
  • Provide technical leadership, including acoustic modelling, design, and analysis.
  • Oversee quality assurance, ensuring projects meet the highest standards.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Mentor and develop junior consultants, fostering a culture of growth and collaboration.
  • Contribute to the consultancy''s strategic growth by engaging with stakeholders and identifying new opportunities.


Qualifications

To excel in this role, you''ll need:

  • 8+ years'' experience in acoustic consultancy, with proven leadership capabilities.
  • Expertise in building acoustics, sound insulation, and planning support.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of BB93, BS8233, and relevant national planning policies.
  • A track record of successful project delivery and client management.
  • Proficiency in software such as ODEON, CadnaA, or SoundPLAN.
  • Chartered status (or working towards it) with the Institute of Acoustics (IOA).
  • A full UK driving licence.


Day-to-Day

Your typical day will involve:

  • Collaborating with clients and stakeholders to define project goals and deliverables.
  • Conducting detailed acoustic modelling and analysis to develop innovative solutions.
  • Leading project teams, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
  • Reviewing and approving technical reports and designs.
  • Mentoring junior team members, sharing your expertise to help them grow.
  • Identifying opportunities for business development and contributing to strategic planning.
