Are you a passionate and nurturing Early Years practitioner looking for a long-term opportunity? Tradewind Recruitment is seeking an enthusiastic Reception Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant, welcoming 2-form entry primary school located in Wigan.

This is a full-time position starting in September 2026 and will continue on an ongoing basis. For the right candidate, this role offers excellent long-term stability and the chance to become an integral part of a fantastic early years team.

As a Reception Teaching Assistant in this supportive 2-form entry school, you will work collaboratively with the class teachers and fellow EYFS staff to create an exciting, safe, and stimulating environment where children can take their first big steps into school life.

Key Responsibilities:

Supporting the class teacher in delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.

Assisting with the planning and setup of engaging indoor and outdoor play-based learning activities.

Leading small group interventions focused on Early Phonics (e.g., Read Write Inc.), basic literacy, and numeracy.

Observing and recording pupil development, contributing to EYFS profiles/learning journeys.

Providing a nurturing environment to help children develop their social, emotional, and independence skills.

What We Are Looking For:

A minimum of a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent EYFS experience).

Prior experience working within a Reception or Nursery setting.

A current Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or the willingness to apply for a new one).
