Primary Teaching Assistant

TeacherActive is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant for regular supply work across a number of welcoming, supportive primary schools in Newark, NG24, offering great facilities and collaborative staff teams.

You will have opportunities to support different classes and year groups, with the potential for supply work to develop into a long-term booking.

The role includes:

• Supporting teachers with classroom activities and lesson preparation.

• Working with pupils individually and in small groups.

• Adapting support to meet different learning needs, including SEND.

• Encouraging pupils’ confidence, independence and engagement.

• Following school behaviour policies and promoting positive conduct.

• Helping maintain a safe, welcoming and inclusive classroom.

The successful Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children in UK primary schools.

• A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or suitable experience.

• An understanding of the UK primary curriculum.

• An Enhanced DBS registered with the Update Service.

• Strong communication and behaviour management skills.

• A proactive, reliable and adaptable approach.

• A commitment to safeguarding and supporting every pupil.
