Primary - Teaching Assistant

I am currently working with a fantastic Primary school based in the South lakes area. The school are looking to appoint a qualified and experienced teaching assistant to join them in September. The role will be working Monday to Friday in a mixed year 5/6 class. The role is supporting 4 students with full time EHCP plans along with 2 very experienced Support assistants.Purpose of the RoleTo provide dedicated 1:1 support for a named pupil within a mixed Year 5/6 class, enabling them to access the curriculum, develop independence, and achieve their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.Key ResponsibilitiesPupil SupportWork on a 1:1 basis with a specific pupil, supporting learning in line with the class teacher''s plans and EHCP (if applicable).Adapt learning activities to meet the pupil''s individual needs.Support the pupil in developing independence, confidence, and self-esteem.Assist with emotional regulation and behaviour management in line with school policies.Monitor and record progress, providing feedback to the class teacher and SENDCo.Classroom SupportSupport the class teacher in delivering high-quality teaching and learning.Help prepare resources and learning materials tailored to the pupil''s needs.Assist in small group work where appropriate.Promote inclusion by supporting the pupil''s participation in whole-class activities.Special Educational Needs (SEN) SupportImplement strategies outlined in the pupil''s EHCP, IEP, or support plans.Work closely ..... full job details .....
