Long Term Futures are recruiting enthusiastic and reliable Teaching Assistants to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Newham from September 2026.

The role will involve working across Key Stage 1 (KS1), supporting pupils with their learning, development and engagement throughout the school day. You will work alongside class teachers to provide a mixture of whole-class, small-group and 1:1 support, including additional assistance for pupils with SEN where required.

Interviews and trial days are taking place immediately for September, making this an excellent opportunity to secure your next long-term primary school role before the new academic year.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support teaching and learning across KS1
• Provide 1:1 and small-group interventions in English, phonics and Maths
• Assist the class teacher with lesson activities and classroom routines
• Provide additional support for pupils with SEN and additional learning needs
• Encourage positive behaviour, independence and confidence
• Monitor pupil engagement and provide feedback to teaching staff
• Help create a positive, inclusive and engaging classroom environment

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Previous experience working with primary-aged children
• Experience supporting pupils across KS1 is highly desirable
• Good understanding of early literacy, numeracy and phonics
• A patient, enthusiastic and proactive approach
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Experience supporting SEN pupils would be an advantage
• A genuine interest in developing a career within primary education
