Primary Teaching Assistant (SEN)
Prospero Teaching are working with a specialist provision in the Eastleigh area that is currently seeking a Primary Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. The school provides tailored education to pupils with a range of additional needs, including social, emotional, and behavioural challenges.
The successful candidate will work alongside the class teacher in a small Key Stage 2 class, supporting pupils both in class and in small group or 1:1 settings. This is an ideal role for someone who is resilient, patient, and passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning.

- Hours: 8:30am 3:30pm
The successful candidate will:
- Be resilient and calm under pressure, particularly when supporting pupils with behavioural needs
- Demonstrate a positive, proactive attitude and serve as a strong role model for pupils
- Be empathetic and sensitive to the needs of young people
- Support the class teacher with the planning and delivery of engaging lessons
- Work independently with small groups or individual pupils, delivering interventions and maintaining focus
- Be discreet, professional, and respectful of pupil confidentiality
Experience, Training and Qualifications:
- GCSEs or equivalent
- Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an SEN or behavioural support setting
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Up-to-date safeguarding training issued in the last year (or willing to complete)
Eligibility:
- Hold Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online Update Service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide two professional, child-related references
