Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a welcoming specialist primary school in Hayes to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teacher for a full-time role starting in September.

This rewarding opportunity is ideal for a qualified teacher who is passionate about supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school caters for pupils aged 4-11 and offers a supportive, well-resourced environment where staff work together to help every child succeed academically, socially and emotionally.



SEN Teacher Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for pupils with SEMH needs.
  • Create a positive, structured and inclusive learning environment.
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, carers and external professionals.
  • Work collaboratively with experienced teaching assistants and specialist staff.
  • Use positive behaviour management strategies to support emotional regulation and learning.
  • Monitor pupil progress and adapt teaching to meet individual learning needs.
  • Contribute to EHCP reviews and personalised learning plans where appropriate.


SEN Teacher Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Experience teaching pupils with SEND, SEMH or in a specialist setting is desirable.
  • Applications are welcomed from experienced mainstream teachers with a genuine interest in SEND.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • A patient, resilient and compassionate approach to teaching.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
