About the Role

A Primary Teacher is sought for a specialist SEND setting in Birmingham, teaching a small KS2/3 class of pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. This full-time role suits a Primary-trained teacher who thrives in a personalised environment and can adapt lessons to meet additional needs. Experience supporting SEMH pupils is essential. Responsibilities include planning and delivering curriculum lessons, alongside strong classroom and behaviour management, to create a structured setting where children progress academically and socially. The position offers £180 to £250 per day, depending on experience, through The Education Network Birmingham.

Primary Teacher – KS2/3 SEMH – Birmingham
The Education Network is looking for a Primary-trained Teacher to join a specialist SEND setting in Birmingham, teaching a small KS2/3 class of pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This role would suit a Primary Teacher who enjoys working in a smaller, more personalised setting and is confident adapting their teaching to meet a range of additional needs. Previous experience working with SEMH pupils is essential, as the successful teacher will need to combine strong teaching with excellent classroom and behaviour management.
You will take responsibility for planning and delivering lessons across the curriculum, creating a structured and engaging learning environment where pupils can develop academically, socially and emotionally. This role requires previous experience working with children with SEMH needs, and a trauma informed approach.
Job Role:

  • Teach a small KS2/3 class within a specialist SEND setting
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons across the curriculum
  • Adapt teaching to meet individual SEND and SEMH needs
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
  • Establish clear routines, boundaries and expectations
  • Manage challenging behaviour calmly and consistently
  • Support pupils' confidence, engagement and independence
  • Monitor progress and adapt learning accordingly
  • Work closely with Teaching Assistants and wider SEND staff
  • Contribute to a safe, structured and positive classroom environment
