Salary: M1–UPS3 (£34,398–£52,490)
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic and skilled KS1 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in St Albans from September 2026. This is a full-time temporary to permanent position, teaching either Year 1 or Year 2, depending on experience and the needs of the school.
The successful candidate will be passionate about delivering engaging and creative lessons, supporting pupils’ academic and personal development, and creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment in which children can thrive.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging and creative lessons across the KS1 curriculum
- Support pupils’ academic, social and emotional development
- Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing clear feedback and identifying next steps
- Create a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff and parents
- Contribute to the wider life of the school
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
- Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are welcome to apply and will be fully supported throughout their induction
- Experience teaching within KS1 (Year 1 or Year 2 experience desirable)
- Strong understanding of the primary curriculum
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- A positive, proactive and reflective approach to teaching
