We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic and skilled Year 5 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Watford from September 2026. This is a full-time position, offering the opportunity to take full responsibility for a Key Stage 2 class within a supportive and forward-thinking school environment.
The successful candidate will be passionate about delivering engaging, well-structured and creative lessons, supporting pupils’ academic progress, and fostering a positive and inclusive classroom where all children can thrive.

- Teach and inspire a Year 5 class across the full primary curriculum.
- Support pupils’ academic, social and emotional development.
- Plan and deliver engaging, well-differentiated lessons to meet the needs of all learners.
- Monitor, assess and track pupil progress, providing clear feedback and next steps.
- Create and maintain a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff and parents/carers.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school, including enrichment activities.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.
- Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are welcome and will be fully supported throughout induction.
- Experience teaching within Key Stage 2 (Year 5 experience desirable).
- Strong understanding of the primary curriculum.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- A positive, proactive and reflective approach to teaching.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
