Make a Lasting Impact Where It Counts Most
Are you a Primary Teacher who believes every child deserves a chance to thrive?
Do you have the adaptability, empathy, and passion to support children who’ve faced challenges in traditional educational settings?
Smart Education is proud to be recruiting a dedicated and nurturing Primary Teacher for a caring and progressive alternative provision based in Middlesbrough. This rewarding role involves working with pupils aged 5–11 who experience a range of additional needs including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties, Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and Behavioural, Emotional and Social Difficulties (BESD).
As a teacher in this specialist environment, you won’t just be delivering lessons—you’ll be shaping experiences that foster growth, confidence, and resilience. You’ll be a trusted adult, a positive role model, and a consistent support for pupils who need that little bit more.
If you're looking for a meaningful teaching role where your impact goes far beyond the curriculum, this is the opportunity for you. Join a team that prioritises compassion, creativity, and collaboration in every classroom.
Your Role Will Include:
• Teaching across the primary curriculum, adapting lessons to individual needs
• Fostering a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
• Planning engaging, differentiated activities to inspire curiosity and achievement
• Working closely with SENCOs, Teaching Assistants, and wider staff to support each learner holistically
• Promoting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
What We’re Looking For:
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Experience working with children with additional needs, preferably in SEN, PRU, or alternative provision settings
• A creative, patient, and flexible teaching approach
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
• A passion for inclusive education and empowering every child
