Contract: Part-Time / Flexible Supply
Start Date: Ongoing from September 2026
Daily Rate: £120 – £135
Supply Desk is working in partnership with a wide range of welcoming and well-resourced primary schools across Brighton and Hove, who are seeking adaptable and enthusiastic Primary Supply Teachers to join them on a part-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for qualified teachers looking for flexibility while continuing to make a positive impact in local schools.
About the Role
As a Primary Supply Teacher, you will deliver engaging and effective lessons across EYFS, KS1, and KS2, covering planned absences, short-term placements, or ad hoc daily supply. You will play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning while creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Adapt teaching to suit a range of learning abilities and classroom settings
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies
- Create a positive and engaging learning environment for all pupils
- Follow lesson plans provided, with flexibility to respond to pupil needs
- Assess and monitor pupil progress where required
- Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and wider school communities
Candidate Profile
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN (secondary age preferred)
- A caring, resilient, and patient approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to implement behaviour support strategies effectively
- Confidence working as part of a multidisciplinary team
- A genuine commitment to supporting young people with additional needs
Requirements
- UK Qualified Teacher Status or Equivalent
- Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
- Two professional teaching references
- Eligibility to work in the UK
