SEMH Learning Support - Full time!
Hours: 8am - 3:30pm - Mon - Fri
Pay Rate: -106 and up based on experience!
Start Date: ASAP (after passing background checks)
Duties
Do you want to make a lasting difference to children''s lives? We are looking for caring and resilient individuals to support pupils in a specialist SEN Primary school in Rochdale. The school caters for children at KS1 and KS2 with a variety of needs including autism (ASC), communication difficulties, and other specific learning needs.
Role Responsibilities:
Provide tailored classroom and 1:1 support for pupils with a wide range of SEN needs, particularly ASC and communication challenges.
Use structured routines, visual supports, and alternative communication systems such as PECS and Makaton to help pupils access learning.
Assist with delivering differentiated lessons designed to meet children''s individual learning levels.
Encourage positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and resilience in a nurturing setting.
Work collaboratively with teaching staff and therapists to support pupils'' EHCP targets and learning goals.
Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where every child is encouraged to progress at their own pace.
Requirements:
Previous experience in education, care, or support roles.
Knowledge of SEN needs, particularly autism and communication support.
Ability to motivate and engage young learners through patience and creativity.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Resilience and adaptability when supporting challenging behaviour or complex needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
