Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant
A dedicated and nurturing specialist provision is seeking a resilient, compassionate and proactive SEMH/Behaviour Teaching Assistant to support primary-aged pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and associated behavioural challenges. This is a rewarding role where you can make a significant impact on pupils who need consistent, positive adult support.About the RoleWorking within a small, supportive team, you will:Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils who may have experienced trauma, anxiety or challenging life situationsProvide 1:1 and small-group support to help pupils regulate emotions, manage behaviour and engage in learningUse de-escalation strategies, restorative approaches and clear communicationSupport pupils through transitions, routines and personalised behaviour plansCreate a safe, calm and structured environment where pupils feel understood and valuedWork closely with teachers, pastoral staff and external professionals to ensure consistent support for each childEncourage resilience, confidence and social/emotional growth through positive reinforcementAbout YouYou''ll thrive in this role if you:Have experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs, behaviour challenges or trauma-informed practice (desirable but not essential)Are calm, patient, emotionally resilient and able to stay positive in challenging situationsCan build strong relationships through empathy, consistency and clear boundariesUnderstand (or are keen to learn) ..... full job details .....
