TeacherActive is working closely with a number of mainstream primary schools across Leeds, supporting them with their short-term and long-term teaching requirements.

We are currently looking for passionate and adaptable Primary School Teachers, including Early Career Teachers (ECTs), to join our agency.

Our schools regularly require teachers to cover planned absences, staff sickness, maternity leave and longer-term vacancies.

Working through TeacherActive provides you with the flexibility to choose the days you are available while gaining experience in different school environments.

Although we always aim to provide regular work within the same school, supply teaching can involve working across multiple schools during the week depending on booking requirements.

The Role

As a Primary School Teacher, your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering engaging lessons across EYFS, KS1 or KS2.
• Following lesson plans and providing continuity of learning.
• Planning and preparing lessons for longer-term placements.
• Supporting pupils with varying abilities and additional learning needs.
• Maintaining effective classroom behaviour.
• Creating a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment.
• Working alongside teaching assistants and school leadership teams.
• Following safeguarding procedures and school expectations.

The Successful Primary School Teacher Will:

• Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be an Early Career Teacher (ECT) with QTS.
• Have experience teaching within UK primary schools, including placements for ECTs.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of the primary curriculum.
• Be confident managing classroom behaviour.
• Have the ability to adapt to different year groups and school environments.
• Be passionate about supporting children''s learning and development.
• Demonstrate professionalism, reliability and enthusiasm.
