About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Primary Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Isleworth. The successful candidate will be supporting two pupils with SEN needs: one in Year 3 (AM) and another in Year 2 (PM). Both pupils have autism, with one being non-verbal, and require consistent 1:1 support to help them thrive in their learning and daily routines.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 support for two pupils with autism, adapting approaches to suit their individual needs
Work with a Year 3 pupil in the mornings and a Year 2 pupil in the afternoons
Support the non-verbal pupil using alternative communication strategies and personalised learning tools
Implement personalised plans and tailored curricula in collaboration with the class teacher and SENCO
Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and social development
Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and outside professionals to ensure continuity of support
Requirements:
Previous experience supporting children with SEN, particularly autism (experience with non-verbal pupils desirable)
A nurturing, patient, and proactive approach to supporting children in a classroom setting
Ability to adapt and differentiate learning to meet individual needs
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
A genuine passion for supporting children to achieve their full potential
