Role Summary A specialist alternative provision in Burnley is looking for a dedicated Primary Nurture Teacher to start immediately. This role involves educating primary-aged pupils who require targeted social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) support outside of mainstream classrooms.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver an adapted primary national curriculum focusing on core subjects alongside emotional regulation and social skills.

• Manage a small nurture group using trauma-informed practices and restorative behaviour strategies.

• Collaborate closely with parents, carers, and multi-agency professionals to monitor holistic student progress.

• Create a safe, structured, and inclusive environment that re-engages vulnerable learners with education.

Candidate Specification

• Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or significant specialist experience within UK schools.

• Experience: Proven background working with primary pupils with SEMH, ASC, or complex behavioural needs in an Alternative Provision (AP) or Pupil Referral Unit (PRU).

• Compliance: Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
