Primary - Learning Mentor

OverviewWe are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and committed Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our team in a dual-role capacity as a Learning Mentor and Class Teaching Assistant.The successful candidate will provide classroom support within a Year 5 class during the mornings and deliver targeted intervention sessions in the afternoons, supporting groups of EAL (English as an Additional Language) pupils and delivering phonics-based interventions.Due to the nature of the role, applicants must hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) and be confident leading whole-class learning when required. The successful candidate may be asked to cover the Year 5 class on occasion, for example during short-term teacher absence, training courses, or other planned events.Key ResponsibilitiesMorning Duties - Year 5 Class SupportSupport teaching and learning within a Year 5 classroom.Work alongside the class teacher to deliver engaging and effective learning experiences.Support individual pupils and small groups to achieve learning objectives.Assist with classroom preparation, organisation, and resource development.Promote positive behaviour and pupil engagement.Support pupils with a range of learning, social, and emotional needs.Afternoon Duties - Intervention SupportPlan and deliver targeted intervention sessions to groups of EAL pupils (typically 6-8 pupils per group).Support pupils in developing English language skills, vocabulary acquisition, reading, writing, ..... full job details .....
