Are you a confident and adaptable Primary Cover Supervisor looking for a rewarding role supporting young learners across Key Stage 2?

Do you have the skills to manage classrooms effectively and deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher?

We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Primary Cover Supervisor to join a welcoming and well-regarded junior school located in the historic cathedral city of Canterbury. The selected Primary Cover Supervisor will be responsible for supervising whole classes during teacher absences, ensuring that pre-planned lessons are delivered effectively and that pupils remain engaged and on task.

The successful Primary Cover Supervisor will be an integral part of the school community, working alongside dedicated teaching staff to maintain continuity in learning and a positive classroom environment.

As a Primary Cover Supervisor, you will be expected to:

• Supervise whole classes across Key Stage 2 during the short-term absence of the class teacher.
• Deliver pre-prepared lessons effectively, ensuring pupils remain focused and engaged.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies and procedures.
• Provide constructive feedback to class teachers on pupil progress and engagement during the session.
• Support pupils with their learning, answering questions and providing guidance as needed.

To be considered for this Primary Cover Supervisor role, the candidate must:

• Have experience working with children in a UK primary school setting (ideally within Key Stage 2).
• Possess strong classroom management skills and the confidence to lead a class independently.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Be adaptable, reliable, and able to build rapport quickly with pupils and staff.
• Have the right to work in the UK.
• Meet GSL''s safer recruitment background checks.
• Have a Child Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
