Our award-winning client based in Letchworth are currently looking for a highly experienced Hydraulic Press Setter/Operator to join their team on a Permanent basis. The successful candidate will play a key role in producing high quality precision sheet metal components for a variety of industries.
 
Main duties as a Press Setter / Operator:

• Set up and operate hydraulic presses (50-800 tonnes).
• Install and change tooling, dies, and press settings.
• Produce high-quality sheet metal components to specification.
• Read and work from engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Carry out first-off and in-process quality checks.
• Work with materials including steel, stainless steel, and aluminium.
• Support tooling trials and new product introductions.
• Ensure jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and on time.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

 
What''s needed in this role:

• Proven experience setting and operating hydraulic or mechanical presses.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience with tooling and die changeovers.
• Knowledge of draw tools and wipe-form tooling.
• Skilled in carrying out quality inspections and using measuring equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Good communication and teamworking skills.
• Own tools and toolbox.
• Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling duties.
