Press Brake Setter/Operator

Gap personnel are currently recruiting for an experienced Press Brake Setter/Operator to produce fine-limit, detailed sheet metal components using both CNC and manual press brakes. This role involves working on small to large batch production within a fast-paced, high-quality engineering environment.
Location: Southend on sea
Hours: 39 Hours: Mon – Thurs: 8:00 – 17:00 (30 mins lunch) Fri: 8:00 – 13:00
Position Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Salary: £16.85 DOE
Main duties: - but not limited too
- Set up and operate CNC press brakes, including Amada HFE, EG4010, and HFB models.
- Manufacture precision sheet metal parts to fine tolerances.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Use precision measuring tools such as vernier callipers, protractors, and height gauges.
- Operate and maintain fabrication equipment including fly-presses, guillotines, and drilling machines.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area in line with company housekeeping standards.
- Adhere to all Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Support colleagues and assist with tasks across Assembly, Machine Shop, and Fabrication departments as required.
Skills & Experience: -
- Proven experience in precision sheet metal work.
- Skilled in setting and operating CNC and manual press brakes.
- Ability to read and interpret 3rd angle projection engineering drawings.
- Competent in the use of engineering measuring equipment.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
- Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards of quality.
- Experience in the aerospace industry. Desired, but not essential.
- Power press setting and operating certificate. Desired, but not essential.
- Familiarity with aerospace materials, such as L163-T3 aluminium sheet. Desired but not essential.
