Role OverviewWe are seeking a commercially astute and technically confident
Pre-Sales Consultant
with a strong background in IT reselling and deep expertise in
Microsoft licensing . This role is pivotal in supporting our sales team to deliver tailored, value-driven solutions to clients across sectors. You’ll act as the bridge between technical capability and business need - translating customer requirements into scalable licensing and cloud solutions.
LocationNorth West England (Manchester, Liverpool, or surrounding areas). Hybrid working available – occasional travel to client sites and HQ.
Responsibilities
Partner with Account Managers to support client engagements, presentations, and solution proposals
Lead discovery sessions to understand client infrastructure, licensing needs, and business goals
Design and recommend Microsoft licensing solutions (CSP, EA, Open Value, etc.) aligned with compliance and cost-efficiency
Deliver technical pre-sales support across Microsoft 365, Azure, and related cloud offerings
Create and present compelling solution documentation, licensing breakdowns, and ROI models
Stay current with Microsoft licensing updates, incentives, and partner programs
Support bid responses, tenders, and RFPs with accurate licensing and solution input
Act as a trusted advisor to clients and internal teams on Microsoft licensing strategy
Collaborate with technical architects and post-sales teams to ensure seamless handover and delivery
Required Experience and Skills
Proven experience in a
reseller or MSP environment
In-depth knowledge of
Microsoft licensing models
(CSP, EA, MPSA, Open Value)
Strong understanding of Microsoft cloud technologies:
Microsoft 365, Azure, Teams
Excellent communication and presentation skills — able to simplify complex licensing structures
Commercial awareness and ability to identify upsell/cross-sell opportunities
Experience supporting mid-market and enterprise clients
Microsoft certifications (e.g., MS-900, AZ-900, or licensing-specific credentials) desirable
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across sales and technical teams
