SANZA Teaching Agency is recruiting a reliable and proactive Premises Assistant for a welcoming primary school in Greenwich. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with site, facilities, caretaking or maintenance experience who enjoys working in a school environment and takes pride in keeping a busy school site safe, secure and well maintained.


About the School

This friendly and supportive primary school is seeking a Premises Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. The role is term time plus some additional holiday weeks and offers consistent part-time hours.


Role Summary

As Premises Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the school site, helping to create a safe and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors.


Key Responsibilities

• Carry out basic maintenance and repair tasks around the school
• Ensure the premises remain safe, secure and well presented
• Support with room setups and school events
• Complete routine health and safety checks
• Monitor site security and report any concerns promptly
• Assist with deliveries and the movement of equipment
• Work closely with school staff to maintain high standards across the site

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience in a premises, caretaker, facilities or maintenance role is desirable
• Good practical DIY and maintenance skills
• Understanding of health and safety procedures
• Ability to work independently and use initiative
• Reliable, organised and professional approach
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one

Pay and Progression

The pay rate for this role is -14.50 to -16.50 per hour PAYE.
Candidates with previous school premises experience, strong maintenance skills, relevant health and safety knowledge, and the ability to work independently across a busy school site are most likely to be considered for the highest available rate of -16.50 per hour.
