Pre-School Assistant

We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic Pre-School Assistant to join a well-established pre-school in the Brentwood area. This pre-school is highly regarded within the local community for providing a nurturing, child-centred environment where children feel safe, supported, and ready to learn through play.

This role is perfect for someone who loves working with young children and is looking for part-time hours across the week while still enjoying the security of a full-time role.

You’ll be part of a close-knit, friendly team that values creativity, teamwork, and putting children’s needs at the heart of everything they do.

Location: Brentwood area
Contract: Permanent, Full-time (with part-time hours)
Start Date: As soon as possible
Hours: Part-time hours spread across 5 days per week
Requirements: Must be a driver | Level 2 or 3 in Childcare is essential

• Support the daily running of the pre-school, ensuring children are safe, happy, and engaged.

• Assist in planning and delivering fun, stimulating, and age-appropriate activities.

• Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.

• Promote children’s social, emotional, and educational development in line with the EYFS framework.

• Ensure safeguarding and health & safety policies are always followed.

• Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare (essential).

• Previous experience working with children in an early years setting.

• A warm, caring, and patient approach to working with children aged 2–5.

• Strong knowledge of the EYFS and a commitment to high-quality childcare.

• A reliable and flexible attitude with excellent communication skills.

• Must hold a valid driving licence due to location.

• Work in a welcoming and supportive pre-school with a great local reputation.
