Pre Construction Manager

Job description:

A well-established and highly respected building services contractor is looking to appoint a Pre-Construction Manager to support its continued growth across the North West.

This is a newly created position, introduced as part of the business''s long-term growth strategy and increasing project pipeline. The role offers the opportunity to play a key part in shaping project success from the earliest stages, working alongside experienced design, commercial and operational teams.

The Role

As Pre-Construction Manager, you will lead the front-end delivery of major M&E tenders and negotiated projects, ensuring robust technical solutions are developed before projects move to site.

You will be responsible for coordinating design development, managing bid submissions, engaging with clients and consultants, identifying project risks and driving value engineering opportunities to secure successful project outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead pre-construction activities from initial enquiry through to project handover.
• Coordinate internal design, estimating and commercial teams.
• Develop technical proposals and value engineering solutions.
• Build strong relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners.
• Review project risks, programmes and procurement strategies.
• Support successful tender submissions and negotiated opportunities.
• Ensure a seamless handover into the operational delivery team.

• Strong technical understanding of mechanical and electrical building services.
• Experience leading pre-construction activities on complex projects.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Commercial awareness with the ability to influence project strategy.
• A collaborative approach and passion for delivering high-quality engineering solutions.
