Practice Nurse - Key Responsibilities

As a Practice Nurse, your responsibilities will include:

• Managing chronic diseases through assessment, diagnosis, and developing personalized care plans
• Delivering QOF and enhanced service requirements efficiently
• Conducting investigations such as spirometry and reversibility testing
• Providing wound care, including complex wound management
• Performing health checks, NHS health checks, and cardiovascular assessments
• Monitoring blood pressure, blood glucose, and conducting ECGs and phlebotomy
• Offering health promotion services like cervical screening, travel immunizations, and smoking cessation support
• Supporting mental health initiatives and medication monitoring
• Additional clinical duties such as ear care and minor surgery support
• Conducting safeguarding assessments and social risk evaluations

Candidate Requirements

• Current NMC registration as a Registered Nurse
• Previous general practice experience preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work both independently and within a team
• Strong organisational skills with a patient-centred approach
• Knowledge of confidentiality and information governance
• Competent in IT systems; experience with SystmOne is desirable
