The opportunity

Working closely with the family owners and an established team, you''ll oversee the practice''s operations, ensure clients receive an excellent service and identify opportunities to grow the business.

Alongside managing workflow and providing technical support, you''ll have the opportunity to modernise systems, improve processes, develop client relationships and expand the practice''s portfolio.

This isn''t simply a technical accounts role. KMA needs someone who combines strong accountancy and taxation knowledge with leadership, commercial awareness and the confidence to make decisions.

  • Build strong relationships with existing clients through regular communication and face-to-face meetings.
  • Identify and win new business to grow the client portfolio.
  • Develop connections within the local business community and professional networks.
  • Identify opportunities to expand the services offered and support clients'' wider business needs.

Systems and modernisation

  • Drive effective use of practice software, including CCH and Sage.
  • Introduce practical improvements to workflows and efficiency.
  • Help modernise the business and establish consistent ways of working.

About you

You understand how an accountancy practice operates and are ready to take on a broader leadership and commercial role. You may already manage a small practice or team, or be an experienced Accounts Manager or Senior looking to step up.

You''ll bring:

  • Strong accountancy practice experience and technical knowledge of accounts and taxation.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing statutory accounts and tax returns.
  • The ability to manage workflow, support colleagues and oversee day-to-day operations.
  • Commercial drive and the confidence to develop client relationships and generate new business.
  • Excellent communication skills and a personable, professional approach.
  • A proactive mindset, with the ability to solve problems, improve processes and manage competing priorities.
