Power Systems Principal - Substation Design and Delivery ConsultingRINA is looking for a highly experienced Power Systems Expert to lead the design and execution of complex programmes for large power and electricity corporations. This position is multi-faceted across technical delivery, business development and project management, all within the high voltage substation domain. You will have end to end project delivery accountability to the client, and will lead a specialist team of Power Systems Project Engineers.

Key Responsibilities

Lead conceptual and detailed design activities for primary and secondary systems of high voltage transmission and distribution substations;

Lead preparation of technical specifications for high voltage components as well as protection and control facilities;

As project manager and design authority, ensure that adequate quality assurance is followed as per agreed requirements;

Lead, mentor, and train junior resources to foster technical excellence and knowledge sharing;

Proactively build positive relationship with internal and external stakeholders to maintain and develop business opportunities;

Represent RINA at relevant internal and external events, workshops, working groups, conferences, and forums;

Lead relevant tendering activities, technical proposals and bid evaluations;

Attend factory and site acceptance tests, site inspections, and commissioning activities.

Qualifications And Experience

Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering;

Strong leadership, client-facing, and project delivery skills (quality/time/budget);

Minimum 10+ years'' experience in design of high voltage substations;

Minimum 5+ years'' project delivery experience with high voltage substation builds in the UK;

Strong knowledge of primary plant equipment as well as secondary systems;

Familiarity with applicable regional and international codes and standards;

Preferably Registered Chartered Engineer status (CEng) with IET, but not pre-requisite.
