We''re seeking an experienced Engineering Manager with deep technical knowledge in Power Electronics, Motors & Drives, and a proven background in highly regulated industries such as Aerospace, Automotive, Defence or Marine.
Based in Hampshire, this permanent role offers hybrid working (3 days onsite) and the opportunity to lead a world-class team at the forefront of cutting-edge propulsion and power technologies.
The Opportunity:
In this leadership role, you will oversee our Power Electronics Center of Excellence, managing complex projects and guiding a multidisciplinary team of engineers. Your mission: deliver reliable, efficient, and compliant systems that power tomorrow''s aircraft - safely and sustainably.
What You''ll Be Responsible For:
- Leading and developing a team of skilled engineers in power electronics and electric drive systems.
- Driving the execution of technically challenging aerospace projects from concept through to delivery.
- Ensuring compliance with aerospace safety and quality standards throughout the development lifecycle.
- Collaborating with global engineering teams and business stakeholders to align strategy, processes, and innovation.
- Building a culture of continuous improvement, technical excellence, and high performance.
- Supporting the development of technology roadmaps and engineering best practices.
What You''ll Bring:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or Motors & Drives (or equivalent).
- Extensive experience in design and development of power electronics systems, ideally within Aerospace or another highly regulated industry.
- Proven engineering delivery, with recent and robust experience in a leadership or management role.
- Strong knowledge of safety-critical systems, regulatory compliance, and industry standards.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive mindset with the ability to lead complex, multidisciplinary programs.
Desirable skills/experience:
- Hands-on experience with aerospace propulsion systems or high-voltage power electronics.
- Familiarity with international engineering teams and culturally diverse environments.
- Certification in Design for Six Sigma or similar methodologies.
- Experience in leading teams through audits and certification processes (DO-160, DO-254, etc.).
