• -5570 per hour

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and validate high-reliability Switch Mode Power Supplies (SMPS) and power conversion solutions for defence applications, ensuring compliance with customer and military requirements.
• Perform schematic capture, component selection, simulation, PCB layout reviews and laboratory testing of DC-DC converters, AC-DC power supplies and power distribution systems.
• Support prototype development, design verification and qualification testing, including thermal, environmental, EMC and electrical performance testing using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, power analysers and electronic loads.
• Collaborate with systems, hardware, mechanical and manufacturing teams to investigate design issues, perform root cause analysis and deliver robust, production-ready power electronic solutions throughout the product lifecycle.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience designing SMPS or power conversion systems within the defence, aerospace or other highly regulated industries.
• Strong understanding of power electronics including DC-DC converters, AC-DC converters, magnetics design, control loops, EMI/EMC and thermal management.
• Experience with schematic capture, PCB design reviews, simulation tools (LTspice, PSpice, SIMetrix or equivalent) and laboratory validation of power electronic circuits.
• Knowledge of defence or aerospace design standards, EMC compliance and product qualification, with excellent technical documentation and stakeholder communication skills.
