They''re expanding their hardware team and are looking for a Power Electronics Engineer with wide-bandgap experience to help design their next generation of high-power conversion systems.You''ll design and develop high-power conversion systems rated at 10 kW and above, covering AC-AC, DC-DC and DC-AC platforms. Your work will span simulation and modelling, prototyping, testing and validation, through to supporting certification.The role focuses on wide-bandgap technology. You''ll work with medium- and high-voltage silicon carbide (SiC) and gallium nitride (GaN) devices, and you''ll help develop solid-state transformer (SST) architectures. You''ll have a central part in shaping the company''s power hardware as it grows.Key responsibilitiesDesign high-power converters using MV/HV SiC and GaN switching devicesDevelop solid-state transformer (SST) architectures, or take a leading part in themModel and simulate converter designs in PLECS or similar, and use PCB CAD tools such as CADSTARCarry out functional, thermal and electrical testing of prototypesRun EMC and power compliance testing, and design in fixes for any issues foundWrite technical documentation and safety files to support approvals and certificationEssential skills and ..... full job details .....
