Power Electronics EngineerDynex Semiconductor LtdPower Assemblies DesignFull timePermanent THE OPPORTUNITYWe are seeking an experienced Electrical / Power Electronics Design Engineer to join our team and support the design, development, analysis, testing and validation of high-power semiconductor assemblies and power conversion systems. The role covers the complete electrical design process, from system-level analysis and semiconductor selection through to detailed assembly design, simulation, testing, technical documentation and customer support. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Analyse three-phase power systems, including six-pulse, twelve-pulse and multi-pulse rectifier topologies. Perform transformer analysis, including star-star, star-delta, delta-star and delta-delta configurations. Assess harmonics, power factor, commutation overlap, voltage regulation and fault currents. Analyse transformer and semiconductor interaction, including leakage reactance, switching losses, reverse recovery and semiconductor stress. Design high-voltage series-connected and high-current parallel-connected diode and thyristor assemblies. Develop voltage and current sharing networks, including tolerance and worst-case assessments. Design RC snubbers, surge suppression and crowbar protection systems. Design low-inductance busbars and current paths, considering current density, short-circuit forces, stray inductance and thermal performance.
