About the Role

As a Postal Delivery Driver in Washington, you’ll join the Pertemps team supporting Royal Mail, handling letters and parcels across the local area. This full-time, temporary role offers £13.69 per hour for up to 35 hours weekly. Your schedule runs Monday to Friday, with shifts from 14:30 to 18:00 and weekend availability required. Each day begins at the delivery office, where you’ll sort and load your vehicle before setting out. You’ll walk up to eight miles, use a handheld device for scanning, and provide courteous service to residents. The position suits those who enjoy working outdoors, staying active, and operating independently. Previous delivery experience isn’t essential, though reliable transport and a valid licence will help you succeed.

What You’ll Be Doing:
· Load & Go: Start your day at the local delivery office sorting and loading your vehicle.
· On the Move: Deliver letters and parcels by foot and vehicle, walking up to 8 miles a day.
· Tech-Savvy Delivery: Use a handheld device for route navigation and signature captures.
· Hands-On Work: Lift and carry mailbags (up to 16kg) and parcels (up to 20kg), using delivery trolleys when needed.
What We’re Looking For:
· A full UK manual driving licence (maximum of 6 points; clean preferred).
· Comfortable working outdoors through rain, shine, or snow.
· Excellent time management and customer service skills.
· Previous Driving/ Delivering experience would great (but isn’t essential!)
