Portfolio Manager

We are seeking a Portfolio Manager who demonstrates independence in client management and technical decision-making. This role is ideal for someone ready to manage a portfolio of clients with minimal supervision, ensuring high standards in financial management and client satisfaction. Day-to-day of the role: Independently manage a portfolio of clients, including setting up clients, defining scope of work, agreeing on budgets, and executing work to the highest standards. Submit all management accounts and VATs on time, maintaining a high standard of review. Potentially manage one or more direct reports, handling day-to-day queries and reviewing their work to ensure top quality. Ensure all statutory accounts are booked within 3 months of the year-end and completed within 6 weeks of booking. Assess workload of direct reports and ensure optimal productivity, raising any issues with the Senior Manager or Director. Required Skills and Qualifications: Proven experience in portfolio management and direct staff management. Strong technical skills in bookkeeping and quarterly VAT returns. Knowledge of cross-border VAT, land-based VAT rules, goods vs services basis rules, reverse charge cross-border, and construction scheme. Up-to-date knowledge of advancements in the accounting system market to drive process improvement and efficiency.
