Closing: 8 th October Porter Lagan Valley Island, Lisburn Temporary (Approx 12 weeks) £13.69 per hour 37 hours per week Main Purpose The Porter is required to provide and maintain a quality customer service, ensuring that facilities are clean and well prepared, equipment is serviceable and properly handled and health and safety and hygiene standards are maintained throughout, in accordance with internal quality assurance system. The post holder will assume other delegated duties relevant to the post as reasonably assigned by the Duty Officer/Facilities Manager including participation in the interchange of duties to cover annual leave, sickness absences, shifts, etc. Main Roles and Responsibilities The services falling within the responsibility of this post are as follows: Assist with the smooth running of the facility Mail Room. Prepare post for distribution and dispatch. Deliver and collect promptly as directed, mail, messages and goods to and from various Departments and assist with the smooth running of the Mail Room to the required standard. Event/room set ups and changeovers for all events (theatres, wedding, conferences, banquets, meetings and exhibitions). To erect, dismantle and store equipment in line with the Council''s Manual Handling Procedures. Set up audio-visual equipment in rooms and control lighting equipment and PA for weddings in Island Hall and other rooms.
