Cogent Staffing are seeking a skilled and safety-oriented Signaller/Lasher to join our client''s team. This vital role ensures the safe loading, securing, and movement of vessels while coordinating operations on site. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a sound understanding of maritime operations. Shift/salary: Must be flexible with availability to work shifts including days, nights, 8, 10 and 12 hour shifts Work is required at the weekend Up to 5 shifts booked weekly during peak periods, during quieter times can be around 3 shifts per week 13.00 basic day rate pay 19.00 per hour for nights and weekend work 19.50 per hour bank holiday pay Immediate starts available following onboarding - please note you must pass a drug and alcohol test to be considered for this role Key Responsibilities: Direct and coordinate the movement of vessels, vehicles, and equipment in port areas. Secure and lash cargo on vessels using appropriate techniques and equipment. Act as a Slinger Banksman, providing clear hand signals to crane operators and ensuring safe lifts and movements of cargo. Conduct pre-lift and post-lift inspections, ensuring equipment is in safe working order. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational procedures. Communicate effectively with ship crews, port staff, and relevant authorities. Maintain accurate records of vessel movements and loading operations.
