Port Engineer required for a major Offshore Wind Developer based in The United Kingdom
Responsibilities
- Assess port infrastructure and its suitability for the company''s offshore wind projects.
- Identify and sense check needs for port upgrading works such as quay reinforcement works, seabed strengthening for jack-up vessel and enhancement of ground bearing capacities.
- Define, develop and review port logistics concepts and contracts.
- Review technical as well as contractual documents related to the tendering and selection process of marshalling ports.
- Support preparations of Port Design / Upgrade Scope of works.
Requirements
- Engineering Degree or equivalent in the field of Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related areas.
Professional experience in the field of civil/structural engineering, including. - Structural analysis of quays for different load combinations, including checks of bending moments, anchor forces, and deformations.
- Bearing capacity calculations.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Interest in project management and its interface to engineering.
- Ability to balance technical and commercial interests and a sound understanding of business concepts.
- Use of AutoCAD or equivalent software.
