We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Politics Teacher to join a successful further education provider in Shropshire from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and support students studying Politics within a thriving and ambitious department.

This part-time position offers the chance to work with motivated learners, delivering engaging lessons that develop critical thinking, analytical skills, and a deep understanding of political systems, ideologies, and current affairs. Timetable and teaching hours are currently being finalised.

The Role

• Deliver high-quality Politics lessons to students at post-16 level.

• Plan, prepare and assess learning in line with curriculum requirements.

• Create an engaging and inclusive learning environment that supports student achievement.

• Monitor and track student progress, providing timely feedback and intervention where required.

• Contribute to departmental development and quality improvement initiatives.

• Maintain accurate records and adhere to safeguarding and college policies.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Experience teaching Politics at A Level

• Strong subject knowledge and a passion for political education.

• The ability to motivate and inspire learners of varying abilities.

• Excellent communication, organisational and classroom management skills.

• A commitment to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion.

Essential Qualifications

• A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS or equivalent).

• A degree or relevant qualification in Politics, Political Science, International Relations, History, Law, or a related subject.

• GCSE Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.

• Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain one).

Desirable

• Experience teaching within a further education or sixth form setting.

• A proven track record of supporting students to achieve excellent outcomes.

• Experience delivering A Level Politics specifications.
