We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Politics Teacher to join a successful further education provider in Shropshire from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and support students studying Politics within a thriving and ambitious department.
This part-time position offers the chance to work with motivated learners, delivering engaging lessons that develop critical thinking, analytical skills, and a deep understanding of political systems, ideologies, and current affairs. Timetable and teaching hours are currently being finalised.
The Role

Deliver high-quality Politics lessons to students at post-16 level.

Plan, prepare and assess learning in line with curriculum requirements.

Create an engaging and inclusive learning environment that supports student achievement.

Monitor and track student progress, providing timely feedback and intervention where required.

Contribute to departmental development and quality improvement initiatives.

Maintain accurate records and adhere to safeguarding and college policies.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have

Experience teaching Politics at A Level

Strong subject knowledge and a passion for political education.

The ability to motivate and inspire learners of varying abilities.

Excellent communication, organisational and classroom management skills.

A commitment to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion.
Essential Qualifications

A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS or equivalent).

A degree or relevant qualification in Politics, Political Science, International Relations, History, Law, or a related subject.

GCSE Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.

Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain one).
Desirable
-
Experience teaching within a further education or sixth form setting.

A proven track record of supporting students to achieve excellent outcomes.

Experience delivering A Level Politics specifications.
