Closing Date: Sunday 16th November 2025 Interview Date: Monday 1st December 2025 About the Role The postholder will work proactively to support the work of the SMP team, WLGA, councils and partners in keeping updated on all policies, research and communications relating to asylum, refugees and wider migration and be responsible for sharing this information with relevant colleagues, making sure there is good communication, awareness and understanding of the policy context of the areas of work covered by the team, some of which change on a relatively frequent basis. The role will support the WLGA''s Communications Team in relation press inquiries on migration related issues, and will be responsible for the outward facing communications provided by the SMP team including the website, contributing to WLGA''s social media presence, the Migration Portal and the development and circulation of a regular bulletin of issues of interest to stakeholders. Arranging any large-scale meetings, events or conferences to be arranged by the team will be another aspect of this role, including the collating, promoting and sharing of good practice examples to proactively showcase the work of councils, including addressing and maintaining good community cohesion. Under the direction of the SMP Manager, the postholder will lead on the arrangements required for good governance of the team and the management of the grants received that fund the SMP.
